Get your Granny on!

Learn to crochet a strong staple in the crochet family, combing basic stitches that you may have learned in our Learn to Crochet class, learned on your own, or from your awesome Aunt. These retro squares are making a huge comeback, and are so simple to turn into bags, scarves, hats, blankets, jackets, and more!

This class will guide you through each round of a granny square, tips for changing color, and how to join squares together.

Skill level

Strong beginner, Intermediate

Preferred experience

Know how to start/make a chain, slip stich, and double crochet stitch

Granny squares can be made with just about any weight of yarn, but I always suggest learning on a medium/worsted weight yarn with a 5mm hook (roughly 10 yards of yarn per granny square with a worsted weight)

The class is a one 2 hour session. Yarn must be purchased at Norwich Knits (mention you are a class member and receive a 10% discount for the project).  

Minimum or 4 people needed to run the class.  Maximum of 8.

Children 12 and up with the appropriate skills required are welcome to enroll when enrolled with an accompanying adult.
