Technique Class: Cables with Cally

Cables are one of the most common decorative stitches in knitting. Although they look complicated, they are quite easy. We will touch briefly on the history of cables and practice several of the most common types. Additional Materials: Cable needle or double pointed needle.

Taught by Cally Lavigne, these stand-alone technique classes are intended for students who are ready to move on beyond knit and purl. The materials are basic: Yarn (Worsted is best, in any color except dark blue, black, or charcoal gray.) and needles suitable for the yarn. (Size 8 works well for worsted wool.) It will be extremely helpful if you cast on about thirty stitches and work four rows in stockinette stitch before class.
