About the Event
Casting on refers to the process of adding multiple stitches to the needle. Binding off is how large numbers of stitches are finished off and prevented from unravelling. As with most things knitting, there are lots of ways to start and end your projects. Here we’ll practice some of the most commonly used.
Taught by Cally Lavigne, these stand-alone technique classes are intended for students who are ready to move on beyond knit and purl. The materials are basic: Yarn (Worsted is best, in any color except dark blue, black, or charcoal gray.) and needles suitable for the yarn. (Size 8 works well for worsted wool.) It will be extremely helpful if you cast on about thirty stitches and work four rows in stockinette stitch before class.
